Growatt USB Wifi Monitoring Device
The Wifi stick is a plug-and-play monitoring device to help monitor the status of the PV system, this device is installed on inverter or controller for uploading and receiving data from the server.
Additional Setup Notes:
● The phone app is called the Shine Phone App. You may find that you have more success using the website vs the phone app. Go to https://server-us.growatt.com/ to view the output of your inverter.
○ We suggest that you use a web browser to log into your Shine account, even if it is a web browser on your phone such as Safari or Chrome, etc.
● Remember that your WiFi stick only receives a signal, it does not emit a signal
● If you are having trouble, you may need to check your router range, the internet may be too far away
● If the router isn’t strong enough you may need an IT person/professional as we do not do network troubleshooting
● If you have more than one inverter, you will need a separate Shine WiFi stick for each inverter
● If your serial number shows a 0 in the number, it is always the numeric zero, never the alpha letter O “Ohh”
You can set up your wifi stick based on the info in the attached photos. Or you can follow the three steps below.
The wifi dongle is a beast to setup! One of the benefits of this inverter is that you don’t have to stand over it to keep an eye on it. Unfortunately, the wifi adapter instructions are kinda vague at best. But i finally got it to connect and its working great! What you need to do is
1) press the key button to make the dongle into a hot spot and connect to the dongle itself “192.168.10.100”
2) configure the dongle to connect to your wifi (select your wifi network and enter your password)./
3) the part that’s not in the manuel and the whole secret sauce go back to the dongle and you have to tell it to connect to a different server i think default is server.growatt.com and that you need to change it to server-us.growatt.com and magically it will start working
When first setup, the wifi defaults to talking to a server overseas. However, the APP on your phone know that you are in the US so the Phone APP defaults to the US server. These steps correct that.
